Beyond #loveislove

I remember getting married and looking through hundreds of blogs, websites, and facebook albums and seeing very few brides and couples that looked like myself or my wife.  And while that was 3 years ago, we still have a long way to go as a nation in regards to equal rights as LGBTQ folks.  We see the hashtag #loveislove everywhere these days but our love stories, personalities, experiences and visions aren't equally displayed or promote and this is even more true if you aren't a thin, white, traditional feminine bride or traditionally masculine groom.  

As a lesbian myself, it is truly important to me to make my LGBTQ family feel as though they have someone to turn to when they need wedding photos, headshots, boudoir or anything else here in Philadelphia or beyond.  Whether you are queer, gay,  gender non-conforming or still trying to figure it all out, know that at Swiger Photography you will be treated with dignity, respect and cared for by someone in your community who understands the unique challenges and joys of who we are.  Unlike other photographers looking to use LGBTQ folks to "diversify" their portfolio, we know how to work with all identities, bodies and expressions because this is who we are.
